The above saying is sacrosanct about all sports and in general about all the aspects of life. Physical activity of some kind, not only keeps one physically fit, but also helps in developing virtues of team spirit and discipline, which are indispensable for success in each and every realm. In order to encourage the spirit of sportsmanship and to provide a platform to showcase the talent of students in a competitive and comprehensive environment, Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College orchestrated its annual sports meet from 3Feb to 6Feb, 2010.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Prof. (Mrs.) Pratima Rani Bose (Principal), Prof. Vijay K. Minocha (Dean) and Mr. Shashank Gupta. Principal tossed the coin for the inaugural cricket match was played between IT batch'09 and civil batch'09.
Four games namely Cricket, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Chess were conducted side by side. The Cricket and Volleyball matches were conducted batch and branch wise, while an open invitation was given for participation in Chess and Table Tennis. The event saw an overwhelming participation of students from all the three branches viz Information Technology, Civil and Environment Engineering, to make the tournament a success. The teaching and non-teaching staff coordinated with the organization of the events by encouraging students and also by umpiring the events. On 5th Feb and 6th Feb finals and semi-finals were conducted among the winners of individual events.
